Many people regard today as the official start of Christmas – it’s time to bring out the decorations, the music, and of course, it’s time to shop for all those gifts.

In the midst of all the commercialism and busyness, it’s always good to stop and reflect on the things that are truly important. I was reminded of a chapel service from October, where Bob Laurent, Ph.D., vice president for college relations, (also known as Dr. Bob or DB) shared a message about sacrifice. It is a very challenging message and a good reminder for me as we head into the Christmas season.
