Men’s Soccer Team Breaks World Record
The men's soccer team poses in front of their fans after breaking the world record for the longest futsal match.
On Monday, April 11 at 8:21 p.m., the Bethel College men’s soccer team broke a world record for the longest futsal match. Futsal is a form of indoor soccer that is played in more than 100 countries around the world and is played on a basketball-sized court.
The old record was set at 32 hours and 20 minutes of continuous play, and the soccer team shattered that record by playing from 12 noon on Sunday, April 10 until 11 p.m. on Monday for a total of 35 hours.

Being at the event was an amazing experience, not just for the excitement when they broke the record, but also to see the enthusiasm and teamwork of the players and the volunteers. It took more than 100 people to pull this event off, and the team of students and staff that did the advance planning worked especially hard to pull all of the details together.
