Rickaby Awarded Prestigious Stagecraft Institute of Las Vegas Scholarship
Junior Rebecca Rickaby received a Stagecraft Institute of Las Vegas (SILV) Award for her work displayed at the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival (KCACTF) – Region 3, in Indianapolis in January. Each year, the Bethel College Theatre Department takes students to the week-long festival, which includes acting competitions, design, tech and management expos, production and more. Rickaby took three design projects to the festival, two regional design projects, a light and scene design and one national sound design project.
She was one of just five students at the festival to receive a regional award, which includes a one-week scholarship to SILV. Not only does SILV expose students to an advanced level of technology and professional workmanship, it also scouts students for future job opportunities. Rickaby is Bethel’s fourth student in five years to receive this award.
