Mihut Publishes Manuscript with Oxford University Press
Cristian Mihut ‘97, Professor of Philosophy, has published his book “Gracious Forgiveness – A Theological Retrieval” with Oxford University Press. The book develops an aspect of forgiveness from the often-neglected biblical image of bearing burdens. It articulates a distinctive framework for divine forgiveness that takes seriously narrative, ritual, and metaphor. It considers forgiveness not only as an ethical phenomenon but also an aesthetic one. And, it advances a richer account of a forgiving self that can also embody virtuous anger.
