Bethel Hosts 55 Employers at Career and Internship Fair
On Feb. 2, the Bethel College career services office hosted a career and internship fair in the Wiekamp Athletic Center. Open to all students and alumni, as well as students from Indiana Careers Consortium (INCC) schools, the fair boasted representatives from 55 companies and organizations.
The purpose of the fair was to provide students with the opportunity to network with area employers and learn more about job and internship possibilities. Students were encouraged to dress for success and bring copies of their resumes.
For freshman Alexa Marcus, the career and internship fair bolstered her confidence. “I was a little nervous at first, but as I began to talk to more employers, I felt more comfortable with asking and answering questions,” she says. “I have even had an interview with one of the employers I met for a possible summer internship.”
Internship Coordinator Matthew Stackowicz says the fair, overall, was a great success. “Businesses are really excited about our students and they enjoyed meeting with them and learning about their passions and skills,” he says.
It was the first all-major career and internship event held at Bethel, but it won’t be the last. “Next year, we’re looking to have 100 employers here,” Stackowicz says. “And I have a feeling it’s going to be even better.”
Of the 55 companies represented at the fair, 100 percent said they would return.
