Sports UpdatesVolleyball (1)
BC volleyball will be back in action this fall under the direction of first-year Head Coach Rachelle Wiegand. While there is a fresh face on the sidelines, the Pilots have a veteran and seasoned group of returners that are ready to make a run in the Crossroads League. Back on the floor for BC are 2015 all-league performers Zoe Wolfenbarger, Kristen Mitchell, Amanda Brinkman and Kassandra Williams. Additionally, Haley Brown, an all-league performer from 2014, who was sidelined with an injury in 2015, rejoins the mix to help make the Pilots a force to be reckoned with.

Women’s Cross Country (2)
In 2016, the Bethel women’s cross country team looks to make strides from their 2015 campaign that included six regular-season meets and trips to the Crossroads League Championship and the NCCAA National Championship. This year, BC will look to senior Taylor Gilliam to lead the young team that includes 10 underclassmen. Gilliam enters the season having recorded the best time during the Pilots’ 2015 season, and is the only runner on the team with a personal best below the 20-minute mark.

Men’s Cross Country
One of Bethel’s most successful teams in 2015 was the men’s cross country squad. Led by the talented trio of Joel Hartman, Jordan Annis and Andy Herbert, the Pilots blitzed the record book by turning in the six fastest times in BC men’s cross country history. And there is great news for Pilot fans: the trio will all be back in 2016 for their senior campaign. BC looks poised to make its second trip to the NAIA National Championships, a feat the 2015 squad made for the first time in BC history, as well as break a few more records.

Women’s Golf
With an experienced core of returners coupled with a talented incoming group of freshmen, the BC women’s golf team has high expectations for the 2016-17 campaign. Coach Chris Hess has his hands full of good options as he rosters 12 golfers, making for a competitive atmosphere day in and day out for the Pilots. Hess will rely on consistency from his seniors, which includes the postseason experience of the 2014 Crossroads League Champion, Jocelyn Ojala, and the 2015 Crossroads League Champion, Annie Smith, to propel the team back to the top of the league standings.

Men’s Golf (3)
Bethel is pleased to have Head Coach Adam Sharp take over the helm for the BC men’s golf program, which struggled to find its rhythm last season. With the graduation of a solid group in the spring of 2015, last year’s squad spent the season searching for consistency. Seniors Zach Hochstetler, Tim Johnson and Austin Brooks will anchor BC as they aim to right the ship early this fall in hopes of a successful campaign.

Rugby (4)
After an extremely successful inaugural season, the BC men’s rugby team will be back on the pitch this fall with six regular-season games on the docket before postseason play begins. After leading the team to a 4-1 mark in 2015, Head Coach Nate Hamil ’07, ’15 handed the reins over to his assistant, Gil Gadia ’08, who will pilot the squad in the 2016 season. Bethel will look for a great deal of offensive production from senior Adam Trejo, who led BC last season by scoring nine tries. BC will also get a boost from major players Patrick Hafenbridle, Chase Jollie, Caleb Keas, and Keoni Tom-Millare.
