Bethel University Community Impact Report

Community Impact Report | 13 BETHEL UNIVERSITY BethelUniversity.edu TRAINING CENTER TO BE BUILT ON CAMPUS Bethel University is expanding training facilities to serve current and future student-athletes and the fitness interests of the student body. In October 2019, the Bethel Board of Trustees approved the construction of a $4 million training center to be built on campus in 2020. This will provide a dedicated space for men's Rugby, women's Lacrosse, and our National Champion Track & Field teams to practice. Currently, the Track and Field teams practice in a dorm basement and share time with other sports in Bethel’s two gymnasiums. Having their own space in the training center will allow for program growth and open the gym for additional programs. “The training center is a game-changer on our campus. It naturally will benefit our track program with a facility to train in, but it will also impact our other athletic teams, intramurals, and the general student body as all these groups will have an enhanced student experience as a result. This is a springboard into the future as well,” says Athletic Director Tony Natali. As of October 2019, we have just $284,000 left to raise to furnish the interior of the building.
