Community Impact Report | 3 BethelUniversity.edu Online Burst • Since 2018, we’ve nearly doubled the number of fully online programs available, from 10 to 19. • Online students live in 15 states, including Alaska, California, Florida and Texas. • Students enrolled in fully online programs have increased by 10%, and students taking at least one online course per year has increased by 10%. Where Your Heart Is • In 2018 we launched the Field Scholar Program, a debt-free or low-debt option for local students that now has 35 students. • Two Computer Science labs have been completed in support of traditional and online computer science programs, which now have 18 students. • In 2020, we launched Bethel Extension Studies (BU-X), providing a debt-free or low-debt program in partnership with DIVSDIFT BDSPTT UIF DPVOUSZ XJUI ̭WF church partner sites, 19 students, and 15 church site commitments for Fall 2021. Game On • The $4 million Lehman Family Training Center is completed and opened in February 2021. • New teams launched since Fall 2018 include women’s lacrosse, men’s and women’s swimming, men’s and women’s bowling and esports. • Teams expanded through roster increases (or the addition of JV programs) include men’s basketball, women’s basketball, NFOnT TPDDFS TP˨CBMM BOE WPMMFZCBMM Robust Recruiting • The $800,000 Van and Jean Gates Welcome Center was completed in summer 2020. • Since 2018, we’ve implemented dozens of new recruiting methods and strategies including a new website, virtual tour and a suite of digital marketing tools. • The yield rate for Fall 2020 exceeded the goal, at 23%, and retention increased 10% over the previous year.
