One of the top priorities of a Bethel education is service to others, and we waste no time introducing new students to this concept after they arrive on campus. The Freshman Year Experience (FYE) service day has become a tradition that allows new students to connect with each other during their first week on campus and it’s also one of many ways that Bethel demonstrates real service to the Mishawaka community.

This year was no exception. Students gathered at Buetter Park in downtown Mishawaka and rolled up their sleeves, or in some cases their pants, to serve the community and the Mishawaka Parks Department by cleaning up the riverwalk. The work included cleaning out the sludge that forms throughout the year in the waterfall area of the riverwalk and other tasks to keep the park clean and looking great.

Here is a video and a photo gallery of this year’s service day.
