War & Peace Film, Concert and Art Show
On April 3, the Music Department presented a free film screening of “The Singing Revolution,” described as an uplifting story about the power of the human spirit.

On April 6, the Concert Choir joined forces with the John Glenn High School Music Department, Vesper Chorale, and Vesper Chamber Orchestra to present Ralph Vaughan Williams’ monumental plea for peace, Dona Nobis Pacem. Bethel alumni Emily McAndrew and Jared Schwartz ’04, D.M.A. were featured as soloists, all under the direction of Jeshua Franklin in the Everest-Rohrer Auditorium.

The Art Department also hosted an exhibit that same day, featuring copies of famous prints surrounding the subjects of war and peace. Featured artists were Francisco de Goya and Jacques Callot.

12th Annual Juried Student Art Exhibition (1)
The 12th Annual Juried Student Art Exhibition opened Feb. 15 in the Weaver Gallery. It features an array of artwork including oil and acrylic paintings, drawings, photography, graphic design and 3D design. Featured artists are current Bethel College students selected anonymously by an outside juror for their excellence in artistry and presentation. The show runs through Apr. 5.

Music Department Presents Jazz Coffee House Concert (2)
The Jazz Coffee House Concert was held March 15 in the Dining Commons. This evening of jazz Standards and more featured the Jazz Ensemble and Jazz Combo, under the direction of adjunct faculty member Wade Armentrout.


Plays Performed During Spring Semester (3)
“God of My Own World,” (pictured) written by Bethel alumnus Wesley Lantz ’18, debuted Feb. 8 and 9 in the Kelly Auditorium, Middleton Hall of Science. The play was submitted to the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival.

“The Drowsy Chaperone” spring musical ran March 28, 29 and 30, in the Everest-Rohrer Auditorium.

Music Department Presented 71st Annual Christmas Concert (4)
The 71st annual Christmas Concert, Goodwill to All, was presented in the Everest-Rohrer Chapel/Fine Arts Center – Auditorium, by the Bethel Music Department. The Nov. 30 – Dec. 1, 2018 event featured the Concert Choir, Voices of Triumph, Chamber Orchestra, Percussion Ensemble and Jazz Ensemble, along with candles and carols.
