Harold Knight ’65 , age 80, of Goshen, Ind., passed away July 29, 2020. Born July 10, 1940, he married Faith Bridges in 1964. Surviving are his wife, WZR VRQV -HƂ $QJLH and Chris '96 (Shana '96); four grandchildren and two sisters. Harold pastored many churches, including Brennemen Memorial Missionary Church, Goshen Missionary, and Wakarusa Missionary Church where he was active as the Minister of Pastoral Care until his death. Gloria Mae (Terpening) Lamphear ’60 , age 81, of Raleigh, N.C., passed away Oct. 13, 2019. She was born Jan. 18, 1938, and graduated from Bethel University in 1960. She met the love of her life, Rev. Richard Lamphear '61, at Bethel and they married in 1960. She taught elementary school and worked alongside her husband in church ministry for many years. She is lovingly remembered by her husband, children, 10 grandchildren, brothers and sister, nieces and nephews. Retha Jean (Patrick) Moran ’59 , age 84, of Elkhart, Ind., passed away Dec. 21, 2019. Born Aug. 1, 1935, she married to John P. Moran '59 from 1959 until his passing in 2013. Surviving are her children, grandchildren, great- grandchildren, and sister. Retha graduated from Mount Carmel High School and held a B.S. in education from Bethel University. For four years, Retha taught at Salka Bible school in Nigeria, where she and her husband served as missionaries. Retha was also an elementary school teacher in Indiana and Michigan. She later managed two Bethel Bookstores and was the director of the Missionary ChurchWomen’s Ministries of North Central District.While living at Hubbard Hill Retirement Community, Retha served as director of Senior Adults of the North Central District of the Missionary Church. Rev. Dale A. Sherry ’54 , age 89, of Mishawaka, Ind., passed away Dec. 19, 2019. He was born Oct. 13, 1930, and married Charlene Everest '54 June 6, 1952. Surviving are his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. Dale was a graduate of Bethel University with a bachelor’s degree in Biblical Literature. He later received an M. Div. from Asbury Theological Seminary. Dale served several churches in Indiana, Ohio, and Michigan as pastor or in supporting positions. For 22 years, Dale was the announcer for “Your Worship Hour” broadcasts and was soloist for “Sunrise Meditations.” In recent years, Dale was soloist for Hubbard Hill Chapel Services. Nora Alice (Jacobs) Wade (attended ’74) , age, 91, of Elkhart, Ind., passed away Sept. 25, 2019. She was born Feb. 25, 1928, and attended Bethel University in 1974. Rev. Dale JohnWalterhouse ’59 , age, 82, of Bronson, Mich., passed away Sept. 11, 2019. Dale was born Nov. 27, 1936, in Bremen, Ind. He was a graduate of Bremen High School and Bethel University, where he studied to be a minister. Surviving are his wife, Elaine 8PPHO ƃYH FKLOGUHQ grandchildren; eight great- grandchildren; and brother. Dale was an ordained Missionary Church minister and served as pastor of several churches in Indiana and Michigan. He also served as Church Planting Director for the North Central District of the Missionary Church. Dennis RayWhitaker, Sr., (attended ’74-’83) , age 64, of South Bend, Ind., passed away Jan. 29, 2020. He was born Dec. 24, 1955, graduated from John Adams High School in 1975, then joined the United States Air Force, serving for several years. He completed three degrees from Bethel University and Indiana University of South Bend. He married Roscedar Orr, and had daughter, Sharita Whitaker. He later had sons Daniel and Dennis Whitaker, Jr. 6XUYLYLQJ DUH KLV ƃDQF« &KHU\O Buchanon, his children, sisters, brothers, grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. $ȅȄQHȄRED ȅȄ M Virginia Mae (Schultz) Krake ’49 , age 95, of Granger, Ind., passed away July 25, 2020. She was born Jan. 31, 1925, and enjoyed 46 years of marriage with Marcus Krake '48 until his passing in 1996. Surviving are her daughters, Joanne '74 (Dan) Johnson and Barbara '75 (Harold '74) Rodgers; two sons, David M. (Vicki), and Thomas A. '78; eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; a sister and brother. Virginia received her B.A. in Biblical Studies at Bethel University in 1949 and spoke at the 70th commencement ceremony in 2017.
