21 Spring 2019 3 ’80s Martha A. (Bergh) Lantz ’83 andMark C. Lantz ’83 attend First Baptist Church of Mishawaka where Mark serves as deacon. They both sing in the choir, alongside their son Jonathan, and are also the AWANA Sparks club directors on Sunday evenings. Sherry (Cooper) Ringler ’81 is currently getting her Master’s in Biblical Counseling at Luther Rice University and Seminary. Sherry and her husband Brent ’81 have three children and eight grandchildren. ’90s 3 Krista J. (Wong) Brooks ’96 was named “Admission Officer of the Year” by the North American Coalition for Christian Admission Professionals (NACCAP). She currently serves as the Director of Admissions at Fresno Pacific University in California (since 2015). Krista, her husband Matt, and cat Stormie, live in Sanger, Calif. 4 Jennifer Knisley ’97 received her Master’s in Education from IUSB in May 2010 and currently teaches second and third grades at Covenant Christian School in Mishawaka. James L. Perry ’94 is recently retired and currently resides in Winamac, Ind. 5 Rev. Laurence D. Shutske ’98 is currently serving as a part-time pastor at Pilgrim Congregation UCC in St. Petersburg, Fla. ’00s Christian (Bock) Arnold ’06 moved to Maine in October 2017. She is the State Director for Fellowship of Christian Athletes in Maine. She also teaches art in local elementary schools. Rev. Daniel M. Clingenpeel ’08 and his wife Marisa welcomed their second child, Nolan, in September 2018. In October, Daniel started working for Oaklawn Psychiatric Center in South Bend as a Skills Training Specialist. Samantha (Poyser) Jester ’00 graduated with a Master’s in Nurse Midwifery in December 2017. She is now working as a Certified Midwife for HealthLinc Clinic in Mishawaka, with deliveries at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center. Andrea (Norman) Kerr ’04 is currently teaching Geometry in the Middlebury Community Schools. She has three children. Rev. Paul M. May ’06 was installed as the Senior Pastor at Westport Baptist Church in Westport, Ind., on Oct. 17, 2018. Paul and his wife Trena (Penny) May ’06 have three children. 6 Brea D. Persing (attended ’03-’04) recently finished working as a global worker with Avant Ministries, living in three countries, doing graphic design and photography. She is now focusing on using photography to help visually share stories for nonprofits and social entrepreneurs, vacationers, mission trips, and the travel and hospitality industry. Samuel N. Rivard ’09 is I.T. Project Manager for the City of Westfield, Ind. He’s responsible for IT infrastructure for city, police, fire, EMS and Grand Park Sports Campus. Samuel and his wife Meghan recently completed adoption of a son from China, in partnership with the Steven Curtis Chapman Orphan and Adoption Foundation. Their daughter was previously adopted domestically. 1 2 6 7 5 4 7 Rebecca (Ledbetter) Shipley ’04 and Kendal Shipley ’04 currently reside in Ringgold, Ga., with their three children. Rebecca works for Heritage High School in Ringgold. 8 Angela M. (Gardner) Swank ’00 and Matt Swank ’97 have been serving the people of New Zealand since 2010. They recently welcomed a daughter in May 2018. Their son turned 3 in 2018. 8
